Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse Negotiating with PA Early Stage to Manage up to $20 Million in Initial Pre-Seed Funding
(continued)
PA Early Stage currently has more than 30 active portfolio companies in IT and life sciences. The firm has built a portfolio of life sciences companies across segments that include medical devices, drug development, diagnostics, ag-biotech and healthcare delivery systems.
The pre-seed and seed funding programs sponsored by the PLSG are part of a larger plan by the organization to create funding mechanisms to meet the needs of the region's life sciences industries. In 2002, the PLSG announced the creation of the University Development Fund (UDF) and the Industry/University Collaborative Research Fund (IUCRF) to support the development of new ideas originating from universities and companies.
