He is Chairman of the Board of PlantGenix, Inc., as well as a member of the Board for Agile Therapeutics, DoctorQuality, EIEICO, MedCases and VueSonix, and led PA Early Stage's investment in Neuronyx. In 2001, he was appointed to the Board of the Wistar Institute, an independent biomedical research institute located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, and in 2003, he was appointed to the Board of Pennsylvania State University Research Foundation. Mr. Schmitt was also a founding trustee of the Biotechnology Council of New Jersey. He is a member of the Board of Advisors for Rutgers University School of Business. Mr. Schmitt received his bachelor's degree from Lehigh University and his MBA from Rutgers.
